Online casinos in Ireland: who is licensed to run one
No online casino holds an Irish licence yet. The Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland, set up under the Gambling Regulation Act 2024, has licensed online betting since 1 July 2026. Applications for gaming licences, the kind that would cover casino games, "will be opened throughout 2027 and 2028", in the GRAI's words. Until then, every casino site taking players from Ireland is licensed somewhere else: among the casinos in our tables, by Malta, Kahnawake, the Tobique Gaming Commission and Anjouan.
Playing at one is not an offence, on our reading of the Act; its offences are aimed at whoever provides gambling without a licence. You have to be 18.
